With huge thanks to all our sponsors...
United Utilities are proud to be Headline Sponsor of these awards, recognising the fantastic contribution the people of Merseyside make towards a healthier, greener, connected region. The Liverpool Echo Environment Awards is a key event and is your opportunity to showcase all the excellent work you have been doing over the past year.
Having invested over £3.5 billion across the North West between 2015 and 2020, we continue to improve the local environment, including a commitment to plant 11 million trees by 2030.
Our business plan for the next period 2020-2025 has already been given ‘fast track’ status by our regulator – the highest category in which Ofwat has placed any of the companies. This is a big vote of confidence in the plan we put forward for customers and is recognition of our determination to deliver on the key priority areas which will contribute to a better service for customers across Liverpool City Region whilst securing lower bills.
Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) and Veolia are proud to be sponsors of the Merseyside Environment Awards 2022 Circular Economy Award.
MRWA and Veolia both support responsible attitudes to protecting the environment, and the development of innovative solutions to manage the millions of tonnes of material resources that enter the City Region every year. Preventing waste and bringing materials back into economic use are key objectives of both organisations. Working in partnership with suppliers and customers, we promote best practice to reduce material consumption, and maximise the value from recovered resources.
In order to address the climate emergency and reach net zero carbon it is essential for the City Region to design out waste and pollution, keep materials and resources in use for longer and regenerate natural systems. Moving to more circular systems will have benefits to people, the planet and our economy. We hope the Circular Economy Award will highlight and celebrate circular organisations in Liverpool City Region; from community projects to large businesses.
